Easy to use Berthing & Mooring Aids for Power and Sail Boats

FITTING THE BOAT HOOK HEAD

When you have used the Mooring Captor to hook up to a mooring buoy and secured your vessel, you will not need to use the Mooring Captor head until the next time you hook up to a mooring buoy.

As a consequence, you may find it useful to use the boat hook head on your Mooring Captor handle at other times.

Fitting the boat hook head is easy. The boat hook head is slid over the handle and the holes in the boat hook head are aligned with the holes in the handle. It is then secured in place with the provided screw and wing nut.

The screw and wing nut is employed rather than other fastening measures because it is simple and reliable for cruising sailors. Quick fit arrangements are notoriously unreliable.

Most cruising boats have a range of screws and nuts aboard that can be employed if the supplied screw and wing nut ( 3/16 UNC) are lost. The boat hook head can even be attached with wire or cord until a new screw and wing nut can be obtained.
