CAPTURING THE BUOY

  1. Approaching the mooring. The user has rigged the mooring line on the boat and is ready to capture the buoy. The mooring line is held against the handle to keep the MOORING CAPTOR head in place.
  2. As the buoy comes alongside, the user inserts the MOORING CAPTOR head into the mooring ring with the spring gate uppermost.
  3. The MOORING CAPTOR is lifted upwards and the head snaps over the buoy ring.
  4. The user pulls the handle to detach the MOORING CAPTOR head from the handle and lets go of the mooring line.
  5. The vessel strains on the mooring line, NOT on the user. The vessel can be brought to the buoy at your leisure and permanent mooring ropes and/or chains can be attached.
